Karim Benzema insists his decision to leave Real Madrid came at the right time after 14 seasons with the club.

Al-Ittihad’s French forward Karim Benzema has insisted he has no regrets about leaving Real Madrid last summer because it was the right time to leave the club.
Benzema joined Real Madrid from Lyon in the summer of 2009. During his 14 years in the Spanish capital, Benzema has played a total of 648 games and scored 354 goals, including 44 goals in 46 games in the 2021-2022 season, which earned him the Ballon d’Or award that year.
However, Benzema surprised fans by leaving Real Madrid UFABET for Al-Ittihad last summer, and the 36-year-old insists he has no regrets about leaving the Bernabeu.
‘Players come and go, that’s how it is at Real Madrid, it always happens. It was the right time to leave, I look back and I’m happy.’
‘Real Madrid will always be the best team in the world. Players come and go, but Real Madrid will always be at the top,’ Benzema said.
Asked how he is entering his second season with the Jeddah club, Benzema replied: ‘I am fine, happy, satisfied and eager to do good things with the team. I see how good it is for you.’
Speaking about the pre-season preparations, he said: ‘Very good. We started the pre-season in the best possible way in terms of working with the new players, the new coach and of course the other aspects when it comes to the competition.’
‘Now we are working for this season, which is important (after the first friendly defeat at Elche before the next game against Sevilla). Then we will go to training camps in Portugal and Italy before finishing the European tour with Betis.’
